Christmas is a very busy period for air cargo to all African destinations so make your shipment well in advance, December may be too late for goods to be delivered before Christmas.

Customs

Our Customers have an option to clear they own goods when they get to the international port of entry but we give the Zimbabwean customers a service which includes Customs clearing and delivery to the door (D-2-D). We can estimate the duty based on the nature of goods declared. Airfreight is delivered to the destination within a week so we do not expect any major variations in Customs procedures within that time frame

Customers are advised to give realistic values to their consignments to avoid any possible risks associated with under declaration of goods. Please attach receipts wherever possible. Please note we do not need receipts for clothing as valuation is based on weight.

Bookings

Customers have different options to make a booking: email, text or phone.

There is no minimum weight to book a collection, we however advise Customers to use a secure postal service for small parcels (15kgs) and documents.

Packing

TBS Cargo accommodates any form of packaging for non-fragile and non-hazardous goods on Airfreight because we do consolidation of our consignments for safety and security.

Customers are advised to check the Restricted items to avoid delays on our shipments should these items be found in our Cargo.

Hazardous goods should be professionally packed in line with the aviation rules; TBS can advise or take management of the process. We have a contractual agreement with a packaging company based at London Heathrow to do all our packaging.

Documentation

When we pick up Airfreight, we will weigh it to confirm the weights we use for calculating the cost. In cases where we use Couriers we request Customer to weigh their goods or at least have a reasonable estimate which we will then confirm on receipt of goods. We will do documentation summarising the contents of your consignment and the customer retains a copy which is a binding contact. We however encourage Customers to make a comprehensive packing list so they can cross check the goods delivered with the Receivers at destination.

Depending on mode of transport, customs imports/exports restrictions the following goods may not be acceptable for carriage through our service, please call for further information: alcohol, cosmetics, dangerous goods, dry ice, and glass.
